Treatments and services

Every plan is different. These are the treatments we use most often, alone or together. We will explain each option, its risks and what to expect before you decide.

Evaluation and treatment planning

A full review of your history, past treatment and imaging, and an examination focused on your pain.

What to expect

Your first visit is mostly conversation and examination. You leave with a clear explanation of what we think is going on and the plan we recommend.

Medication management

Careful use and regular review of medicines for pain, nerve pain, muscle spasm and sleep.

What to expect

We review everything you take, explain the purpose of each medicine and follow up regularly to adjust doses and check side effects.

Trigger point injections

Small injections into tight, painful knots in a muscle to help it relax.

What to expect

A short in-office procedure. Most people return to normal activity the same day.

Joint injections

Medicine placed directly into a painful joint such as the knee, hip or shoulder.

What to expect

An in-office procedure that takes a few minutes. We explain the expected timeline for relief before we begin.

Epidural steroid injections

Anti-inflammatory medicine delivered near irritated spinal nerves to ease pain that travels into the arms or legs.

What to expect

Plan on bringing a driver. We go over preparation, including any blood thinners, before the day of the procedure.

Nerve blocks

Numbing medicine placed around specific nerves, both to relieve pain and to confirm where it comes from.

What to expect

Some blocks are used to test whether a longer-lasting treatment is likely to help. We explain which kind you are having and why.

Radiofrequency ablation

Gentle heat applied to small nerves that carry pain signals from arthritic joints in the spine.

What to expect

Usually considered after a successful nerve block. Relief, when it comes, can last for months.

Physical therapy and chiropractic coordination

Referrals to and teamwork with local physical therapists and chiropractors.

What to expect

Movement-based care often works best alongside medical treatment. We help you find the right provider and stay in touch on your progress.

Nutrition and wellness guidance

Practical guidance on nutrition, weight, sleep and activity as part of your pain plan.

What to expect

Small, steady changes can make other treatments work better. We set realistic goals together and review them at follow-up visits.
